Sensory Bottles

Sensory Bottles

We will be doing this activity again and again.

I def want to experiment with different themes during the holidays. My kids have been playing with these non-stop. If you want your kids to be mesmerized and occupied, this is a good activity. The materials are really customizable, I’d say that’s half the fun. While the possibilities are endless, here are some ideas…

Materials:

water (distilled is best, regular is fine)

glue (clear, sparkle, glow) and/or oil

food dye

mini figures

stones

beads

glitter

flowers

shells

sand

cotton balls

I started with water, then glue/oil. This can be an opportunity for a mini science lesson. After water and oil alone, this could be the end! The kids will still love it.

You can just close the lid tight, but if you lean towards “better safe than sorry”… hot gluing the lid closed can be a good idea!

Next, you can add glitter and fun toys and gems! On theme or not!

I can’t wait to do different themed variations of this. I will be posting all the different holidays and themes we come up with in the future!

Keeping this activity to have on hand when your child is practicing patience from car drives, to waiting rooms. Using them to calm down when upset is one of my kids favorite way to use them. One of my kids calls these his “calm down bottles.”

10/10 activity. Have fun! Share your ideas and results with us by using @mother.company or #motherscompany <3

xoxo, Star
